Stookey Township is a unit of local government and is funded by property taxes collected on properties within the township boundaries. Founded in 1883, the Township encompasses 27 square miles in western St. Clair County, IL. The Township provides general services, road maintenance, sewage treatment, general assistance and maintains two parks.
